Hello All,
I live inTexas and fall under Sen. Cornyn constituency. I faxed his Dallas and Washington Office this thank you letter. Everyone of us can send letter to their Senators. After all we are legal tax payers.... what u all say ???

I applaud your Amendment to provide interim relief for shortages in employment-based visas for aliens with extraordinary ability and advanced degrees and for nurses. I am one of those who are currently stuck in the muck of USCIS. I would like to request you to not give up on us. Please try to introduce another similar amendment to at least help USCIS clear the humongous backlog of Green Cards. We all really appreciate your help!

Also please call to the senators office and let them know your opinion. Please refer about the bill and convey your opinion according to the particular senator's voting on the amendment. My name is Debasish and I live in Santa Monica near UCLA. I think we all should get together and do something to mobilize our chapter here in So-Cal area. We all know that there are a lot of people who are on H1B and have applied for their GC. But they are waiting....
For myself, I have applied for my GC and still waiting for the I-140. Don't know what they are doing in the TSC???
So the idea should be to get them invloved...Somebody has rightly put it that we do not have a collective voice and that's why we are ignored...
Hope you guys understand...
I think we should start collecting database of people who have applied for their GC and waiting.
If you have any input on this, I will gladly hear it...

It sure seems that there a lot of frustrated people on a short fuse. Staying focused definitely helps because of both our limited resources and influence. One thing that should be considered though is the greater good. Lot's of things could help an individual's cause. If I had the power to change the law I would start of by issuing green-cards within a month of getting an H1-B. But I don't have the wishing well in my backyard. I wish one of us could locate one and that would be the end of all this confrontation!

some ppl reported succssfully renewed EAD, AP while appeal to 485 denial was pending.
Desi we definitely need to get clarification on this. Can you post a message with interpretations from differnet lawyers? Maybe we can get more people to ask their lawyers like Fragomen, Shusterman, Siskind ..... we will then match.

If somebody is eligible to jump from Eb3 -> EB2, then he should be allowed to jump.
I am EB2. I had to change my job as my previous employer didnot allow me to file in EB2 as I didnot have prior experience even though i have MS from USA.
I changed my job and now I am in EB2. My PD is Feb 2008. Sucks that I missed the bus in July 2007.
Nobody should go through what I went through. If somebody is eligible to jump, then he should jump from EB3->EB2.
Considering the current delays in labour and I140 approvals, I think the entire process of filing for new labor, then I140 and the PD porting will take around 2yrs if there are no Queries. :p
Unless somebody's PD is mid 2006 or 2007 above in EB3, I dont think this EB3->EB2 jump will be helpful. :rolleyes:

Maybe you want to start a thread and collect all those who are stuck in 2001 and earlier dates in EB3 I and 2003 and earlier for EB2I on IV.
Lets see how many we get. They should also update the IV tracker with their dates. We can then use that data to ask help clear the backlog and petition to advance dates in a systematic order. This will work if you can get many people who are stuck despite their dates being current for several months/years. What do you think?

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
Yeah, tell me the same thing when all of us will wait for 6 or 7 years if they dont fix the system and continue to do security check on us. We know that we are NOT bad people. Its difficult to prove that in existing conditions. People are paranoid about every thing right now.
