I thought I will share my experience with all members who are facing processing delay for their I-140. My I-140 was filed at NSC on March 21, 2007 and got transferred to TSC on May 21, 2008. Since then, I see no activities (I believe TSC was treating transfer date as receipt date and they didn’t bother to look at my case). On July 29, 2008, I asked my Lawyer to initiate the inquiry about the delay and his paralegal took the “service center request” from USCIS for my I-140 and service center issued a confirmation number (ETCXXXXXXXXXXXXX) for further inquiry.
Within 10 days of initiating the inquiry, my case was approved on August 9, 2008. Please do so if you think it will help.

IV friends ,
Last week my lawyer has asked for copy of Driving License of me and my wife for filing the H1-B and H4 extension.
Then one of my friend told me that INS is asking for copy of the driving license for filing the h1-B extension.
My employer is supposed to file my 3 year Extension based on I-140 in Dec this year( Dec 2007) but my Licences expires on Sept 2008, So I will I be just getting the extension till Sept 2008 and Not 3 year extension.
Any Idea on that
I have already submitted my driving license to my lawyer.
Please Let me know because I was couting on that I will get 3 year extension this time.
Ask your lawyer why the driver's license is required? Passport is an accepted form of identification. Either your lawyer is ignorant(time to get a new lawyer?) - or he is taking you for a ride (he will milk you/ your employer for more money when extension time will come again).

I believe the majority ofthe IV members are from Indian origins. they should contact the Indian community that donated money to Hilary and ask why she voted against legal immigrants. she is preparing for her election compaign. I am sure she will answer or at least she will know that we are following her votes against us.

I am an H1B holder in Indianapolis, IN processing GC on EB3 -actually my EAD (PERM) is 'In Process'; my wife and 3 under age kids are H4s... a couple of months ago we had to update our address in our 2 DL & 5 IDs... of course I am the only holder of a SSN so no problems getting the renewal of my DL & ID. After getting a numident report from the SSA for my daughters and wife... there were no issues generating IDs for the kids... but according to BMV withouth a SSN my wife's DL won't be updated and it will be suspended in 30 days. How she got a license before (for 3 years) and now she can't...? Is there anyway to obtain a DL in Indiana being a legal H4? I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!!

He is saying what is the truth. Do you believe that Indian universities are as good as American? If so, why do we come here?
Simple answer is jobs in the US pay better than jobs in India, therefore people come here for the economic opportunity.
As far as Wadhwa's statements disparaging the quality of Indian education go, he is looking after his interests. He runs an engineering program at Duke and needs to keep students interested in enrolling. How many students will keep enrolling once they find out they are being royally fleeced by American universities and that they could go to India and get a equivalent or better degree for a fraction of the price?

For taxpyers, the amount of money will be "reduced" or " completely phased out" for individuals making adjusted gross income or more than $75K ( or more than $150 if married and filing jointly).

More than willing as well...lol! You know what to do, ei and don't give me RFE.....you can interview me but soon after give me GC....
LOL. :) If I am a volunteer as an IO, I would get the names of all IV members, write a small script to approve their GCs, make sure the cards are delivered to the members, and immediately resign my job. :D

EAD is not a visa status. It is an employment authorization document. Of course they will not accept it in lieu of H-1B.
What you need to do is show them the receipt of your I-485 application with the A#.

15 years and 2 months. Arrived in US in June 1995. Includes 6 years on J1 and 9 years on H1. Been thru all possible problems-employer closing shop in the middle of waiver, scrambling to find another waiver position, labor stuck in back log , lost priority date, new PERM and labor from 2006 and then applied 485 in july 2007 .
I made a lot of mistakes, lost opportunities but there there were a lot of things beyond my control...
